ANDY Cygan scored twice as Hounds came from behind to beat Pocklington 3-1 in the York FA Sunday Senior Cup.

Pocklington took the lead after 20 minutes when Charlie Bond chipped the Hounds goalkeeper.

Some 15 minutes into the second half, Hounds drew level when Alan Jackson scored after good play by Cygan and went ahead in the 78th minute when skipper Alan Clayton cashed in on a defensive error. Cygan then sealed victory with his second in the dying minutes.

Goals by Steve Ward (3), Andy Dawson (2) and Simon Kehoe (2) saw Nestl Rowntree cruise to a 7-2 win over nine-man Shipton.

New Earswick needed extra time before defeating Five Lions 4-3 and they were indebted to two goals each from long-serving players Charlie Holmes and John Carter, the latter claiming a spectacular strike all the way from the centre spot.

Extra-time was also required in the tie between Acomb SC and Deramore Arms before Deramore ran out 5-3 winners with goals from Michael Horner (2), James Luck, Isaac Mullen and Mark Triffet.

Brad Dunn scored a hat-trick as Hamilton Panthers Reserves beat Rufforth United Reserves 4-1 in the York FA Saturday Junior Cup. Substitute Craig Fletcher scored Panthers' other goal.

Barmby Moor Reserves produced a great performance to restrict Tockwith's first team to a 1-0 win.
