JOCKEY Richard Hughes, who was out of luck on Oasis Dream at the Breeders' Cup Championships in California on Saturday night, swaps Santa Anita for Redcar tomorrow.

He travels north for a handful of fancied mounts after a disappointing trip to the United States.

Oasis Dream, brilliant winner of the Nunthorpe Stakes at York in August, was stepped-up in distance to tackle the Breeders' Cup Mile, but finished unplaced to Six Perfections after failing to stay the extra yardage.

Hughes will be hoping for better fortunes tomorrow, though the rewards on offer can hardly match the American jackpot prizes.

La Coruna, trained by Roger Charlton, can provide Hughes with a winner in the Captain Cook Novice Stakes over seven furlongs.

The two-year-old made a winning debut at Lingfield at the end of August when scoring by half a length from Polish Trick. La Coruna has the scope to improve further with experience and she looks poised to double her score here.

Crozon, trained by John Gosden, and thus a stablemate of Oasis Dream, will have Hughes' assistance in the Saltburn Classified Stakes.

Winner of her only race to date, a pretty weak affair, at Bath last month, Crozon has the scope for further improvement and she will hardly need to produce anything out of the ordinary to secure this modest event.

Hughes has also got the mount on Reap in the Whitby Handicap. Lydia Pearce's gelding has been in cracking form lately, rattling up a hat-trick of wins.

The handicapper is poised to nail him one of these days, but it may not be tomorrow. He looks to have strong claims over this straight mile.

Robert Winston, chasing his maiden century of winners, has every chance of adding to his tally aboard Uhoomagoo in the Markse Handicap.

Kevin Ryan's gelding is something of a law unto himself, a horse who can loiter at the rear of the field until suddenly deciding to produce a whirlwind finish.

Recent efforts suggest he is on good terms with himself and, in the hope that he puts his best foot forward, Uhoomagoo is awarded my Nap vote.

Dancing Phantom should make a bold bid in the Wilton Claiming Stakes.

The ease in the ground is ideal for this once-useful handicapper, who showed a return to form when finishing second to Nowell House at Ayr last time. He is fancied to go one better.

At Nottingham, make a note of Triplemoon, who has lately been in the best form of his life. The Peter Harris-trained four-year-old has scored a hat-trick of successes.

Very much at home around Redcar, he should have no problem coping with this similar course at Nottingham, a flat, left-handed oval. Seb Sanders takes the mount in the Trent Handicap.

The tough and consistent Its Ecco Boy (12.50) and the promising Janayen (2.30) also appeal.

Tuesday's tips:

Tomorrow's other meeting is at Cheltenham.
