TIME is running out for York City Knights RL fans to get their hands on cut-price season tickets for the new season.

More than 300 have already snapped up the discounted tickets - more than a quarter of last season's average gate - and other fans wanting to make the most of the offer have until Saturday.

Chief executive Steve Ferres said the numbers were already up on last year's total by about 25 per cent. He said: "It's an excellent sign. It's great to see the people of York getting behind the team and getting behind what we are trying to do and that is give them a quality rugby team.

"It doesn't seem like a great number but in terms of a percentage increase, it's great news and we hope to repay them with good rugby on the field."

The early bird offer reduces the prices by £10 across the board with savings as high as £30 for children and £40 for family passes.

Season tickets cover all National Division Two and Arriva Trains Cup matches, excluding challenge cup ties and play-off matches. Prices are based on £120 seated and £100 standing for adults with concessions for pensioners, children and family deals.

Supporters who purchased a membership for the 2002-3 season have been offered free season tickets for next term, although several have turned down the chance in order to boost club funds with new ones.

Anyone interested in buying a season ticket can go to the club office at Huntington Stadium or call 01904 656105 for an application form.

Fans can also find out more at Monday's open night.

Plans for the stadium will be unveiled and new head coach Richard Agar will be officially introduced to supporters during the event. Fans will also be able to meet the players and get a closer look at the new merchandising ranges in time for Christmas.
