I WISH York Market could be brought back to its rightful place in Parliament Street, where it was so popular and colourful.
Why it was ever moved to its present location, at the back of Marks&Spencer and other shops on Parliament Street, I shall never know.
It now seems so cramped and dark and lacks the ambience of its old site. Many years ago the Christmas market, with its lights, music and a fantastic selection of stalls in the heart of York was such a wonderful place to visit.
It is a pity we have Parliament Street spoiled with that awful fountain!
Maybe one day, the powers-that-be may see sense and take the old market back to where it should be - Parliament Street.
I am sure the stall-holders would prefer it.
