YORK employers are helping 60 students with their health and social care GCSE.
Moss Pharmacy, Heworth Green Nursery, Boots and Grove House are just a few of the businesses who will be helping students from Canon Lee, Milthorpe and Burnholme schools.
The companies are helping the students to collect evidence for portfolios which goes towards their final GCSE grade.
Health and Social Care is one of eight new GCSEs introduced by the Government last year.
Anne Sked, work experience co-ordinator at Trident, recruited businesses to the scheme.
She said: "This style of learning is giving those businesses who are not normally able to offer the traditional two-week work experience placement the opportunity to help students gain a better understanding of their chosen occupational area."
Businesses interested in hosting student placement can contact Anne at Trident on 01904 427111 or Emma Thomas at NYBEP on 01904 693632 or email emma@nybep.org.uk
