YORKSHIRE Forward is to welcome four new members on to its board.

John Spencer, Professor Bob Boucher, Stella Guy and Coun Nicholas Dakin will take up their posts when Terry Hodgkinson succeeds Sit Graham Hall as the regional development agency's chairman.

They will be replacing Paul Jagger, Muriel Barker and Jeanne Coburn.

Mr Hodgkinson said the four new members brought a wealth of experience to the board of Yorkshire Forward.

"Paul, Muriel and Jeanne have done a tremendous amount of work in making Yorkshire Forward what it is - a dynamic, forward-thinking body - during their time on the board and I thank them for that. "Our challenge now is to move the agency on to its next stage of changing radically the fortunes of the region, building on the work that has already been achieved and I am confident these new appointments will contribute to making that happen."

Mr Spencer is head of operations at the Press Association news agency, which has a large site at Howden, near Goole.

Prof Boucher is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield.

Ms Guy is Yorkshire and Humber regional secretary of the Transport and General Workers' Union (TGWU) and Coun Dakin is Vice-Principal of John Leggott College, in Scunthorpe.
