I WAS disgusted at the report 'Rat-run drivers face being snared' (December 2). I don't see how the Highways Agency can legally stop people driving on roads they have paid road tax to drive on.

I am a driver who pays his £165 road tax, pays his insurance, has an MOT and who also pays his 86p in the pound on petrol. If I am prevented from driving on any of the roads in that area when the work is going on I shall take the Highways Agency to court because they are breaking the law. I hope that my fellow motorists will do the same.
