YORK is close. So is North Yorkshire. But congratulations to East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which is already there.
It is the only one of our local authorities to achieve a rating of "excellent" from the Audit Commission. York and North Yorkshire councils trail a little behind on "good".
Still, that is... good. We are delighted our councils are all doing so well. And York and North Yorkshire now have something to aim for. Which is excellent.
