YORK country singer Suzy Martell has released her new single, A Dose Of You, a record that marks her move into the blues.

"I'm just back from Nashville. Very jet lagged, but it was a brilliant trip," she says.

"I got the single launched and it's doing really well over there, where I've built up a lot of support through my gigs."

A Dose Of You, recorded, mixed and mastered at Little Hollywood Studios in Nashville, is available at £1.99 solely through Track Records, York.

It comes with Suzy's new blues rendition of Will The Circle Be Unbroken, a long-time favourite in her live set.

Looking to the future, Suzy is contemplating moving permanently from Heworth to Tennessee in 2004.

CRAZY Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers, from South Wales, are the headlining rockabilly act at tomorrow's rock'n'roll Christmas party at The Crescent WMC, off Blossom Street, York.

THE Sweat Box presents Xmas Retro Box, a night of classic house, soul, rap and garage tracks, at Plonkers Wine Bar, Cumberland Street, York, on December 27.

LYNCHPIN hold their Festive Mosh Party at The Junction, Leeman Road, York, in an All Ages gig on Tuesday evening.

The York band, who bring rap, metal, hip hop and melodic rock to their musical party, will be supported by punk ska combo 5 Finger Discount. Doors open at 7.15pm; door charge £4.

THE Nestle Rowntree Band will give the last performance of the year at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York tonight. Correction, make that three Nestle Rowntree bands, with 60 musicians between them.

The Beginners' Band and Concert Band both will be conducted by Audrey Brown, while the Senior Band will be under the baton of William Rushworth.

The Concert Band won first prize in its category in last month's Malton Entertainment Contest.

Tickets for tonight's 7.30pm concert will be available on the door from 7pm at £5, concessions £3.
