WE often read of the problems facing our children and young people today including abuse, bullying, bereavement, family breakdown, exam stress and truanting.
Do readers realise that this month they have a chance to make a difference? The Government is reviewing its arrangements for child welfare in schools and we must persuade it to take action.
As part of the Full Stop campaign, the NSPCC is calling for the funding of independent counselling schemes in every school for all children.
I am backing the campaign and have just written to ask the minister for education to ensure every pupil has someone to whom to turn for help with their problems and difficulties. Visit http://www.nspcc.org.uk/campaigning to help our children.
