SESSIONS increased their lead in division one of the Integrated Utility Services York and District Table Tennis League with an 8-2 win over Strensall 'A', Mick Wilcockson and Chris Nicholls each winning three for Sessions.

Groves WMC 'B' climb the table after a 9-1 win over Poppleton 'A' and a 5-5 draw with Railway Associates. Pete Harpham and Jim Robe won all three for Groves and against the Associates, Dave Jackson and Pete Harpham won two each.

York RI 'A' and York RI 'B' played out a 5-5 draw in a close contested match. Paul Noutch and Doug Bartle won two each for the 'A' team and John Hughes and Mark Blackburn two each for the 'B' team.

In division two Bootham Conservative Club 'B' are the leaders after a 7-3 win over Groves WMC, all the Bootham players each winning two games apiece.

A 5-5 draw with Poppleton 'B' took them to the top, Peter Corner and Richard Ingleby each winning two for Bootham, Dave Rawlings taking all three for Poppleton.

York RI 'C' crept up the league with a 7-3 win over BT 'A' with Stephen Robinson unbeaten.

Three wins from Keith Webster helped Nestl Rowntree 'A' to a 5-5 draw with York RI 'C'.

Bob Young's impressive form continued for Strensall 'B' who had a 7-3 win over Coneysthorpe 'B' with Young winning all three for Strensall.

BT 'B', leaders in division three, had Jim Stevenson winning all three in the 7-3 win over Shepherds 'A'.

BT 'B' beat York RI 'E' 7-3 with Bill Carter unbeaten for BT. Jim Stevenson also won all three but Brian Milner hurt his wrist and could not play his final game.

Northern Electric were too good for Shepherds winning 9-1. Rod Lowery and Dave Boothroyd each won all three for Electricity.

Strensall 'C' kept up the pressure on the top teams with a 10-0 win over bottom team Nestl Rowntree 'B'. York RI 'F' beat Poppleton 'D' 6-4, Dom Ainger and Ken Robson each winning two for RI, Matt Pinner two for Poppleton.

Simon Prins was the star for Strensall as they drew their match 5-5 with Shepherds 'B'. Alan Milner played well for Shepherds to win two for them.

Norwich Union 'A' beat their 'B' team 9-1 to stay well clear in division four.

Shepherds 'D', in second place, had a 9-1 win over York RI 'G' with three wins each for Jack Baxter and Nigel Baker. They then won a close match with Sessions 'C' 6-4, Jack Baxter again winning all three.

York RI 'I' and Poppleton 'G' drew 5-5, Jean Carter and Jeff Brow each winning two for RI.
