Saville AV took advantage of a blank week for Clifton to take over at the top of the York Sunday Afternoon League.
Saville fired two goals past still-pointless Clifton Rangers without reply.
Division one challengers College of Law mauled hosts Woodthorpe Warriors 9-1 in a convincing win and Black Dog triumphed 2-0 against local rivals Bubwith White Swan.
In division two, third bottom Wigginton Grasshoppers beat high-flying Forest 4-3 to knock them off the top of the table.
Cottage Inn took over in pole position with a 4-1 defeat of CB United, Stefan Dzivezynski scoring the consolation for United.
Cedarwood earned their second win of the season to move off the bottom of the table after beating Yearsley 4-2.
Shoulder of Mutton fired themselves into fourth in the table after thrashing lowly Bay Horse United 7-3, while Knavesmire also had their scoring boots on to put five past hosts Huntington Juniors, who managed a consolation effort in reply.
