THANK you for publishing the article and picture about one of our members, Ken Whitfield, on being awarded - albeit 51 years late - the General Service Medal for his time in the Middle East during his National Service (December 8).
Since you published the report, Mr Whitfield has received numerous phone calls from people wishing to know how to claim their medal.
Let me inform any ex-RAF personnel, whether they be National Service or regular, that if they wish to call at our branch HQ in 3-5 Aldwark, any Thursday or Saturday evening, we shall be pleased to see them and give advice about making a claim.
