Before the council introduces the proposed rise in residents' parking permits, would it be possible for someone to do a survey of the people who have a permit but don't own a car?
The reason being: I was asked the other day if I knew somebody who wanted one as he didn't have a car any more and he was prepared to accept £15 per week for it. Basically for an outlay of £42 this person would make £780 over the year from renting it out, not a bad earner and cheaper than car park prices over the year for the person renting it off him.
Secondly, why should people who drive cars over 2.7 metres in length have to pay the full whack? People work and save hard to own cars. If they want to own a car that is over 2.7 metres, then so what? They paid for their cars, they pay all the things that go with owning a car, so what gives anybody the right to attempt to penalise them for it?
