Ryedale jockey Robert Winston travels to Surrey tomorrow with good prospects of making his journey worthwhile at Lingfield's all-weather meeting.

He has a handful of solid-looking chances on the Polytrack and can start in style on Smith N Allan Oils in the opening Littlewoods Bet Direct Trainers' Championship Handicap.

Trained at Darlington by Michael Dods, Smith N Allan Oils has already won on this course this winter. Tomorrow's seven-furlong trip should be ideal for him.

Winston can also land division two of this contest aboard Warlingham, trained by Paul Howling.

A course-and-distance winner two weeks ago, Warlingham comes into this contest in fine heart and is awarded my Nap vote to follow-up.

Winston also has a brace of mounts for trainer Mick Quinn, both of which boast decent prospects.

The speedy Byo promises to go well in the littlewoodspoker.com Claiming Stakes, while Landescent, who has shown some ability on the Polytrack, will not get many better opportunities to notch a win than in the littlewoodscasino.com Selling Stakes.

Dean McKeown, another jockey based in North Yorkshire, is also fancied to make his Lingfield trip worthwhile.

McKeown teams-up with the in-form Free Option, trained at Newmarket by Willie Musson in the Littlewoods Bet Direct Classified Stakes. A bold bid is anticipated.

An improvement in the weather will be needed to ensure tomorrow's meeting at Musselburgh going ahead.

Malcolm Jefferson will be hoping there are no problems, as the Norton trainer has good prospects of landing the three-miles Hogmanay Handicap Chase with Clear Dawn.

Graham Lee's mount won over this course and distance a fortnight ago, despite a bad blunder at the final fence, which his jockey did well to survive. A follow-up looks on the cards, so long as Clear Dawn does not make any silly mistakes.

Lee can initiate a double on Flownaway in the opening race, the Musselburgh News Maiden Hurdle.

A useful handicapper on the Flat when trained at Newmarket by William Jarvis, Flownaway, now with Howard Johnson, has all the credentials to make a successful hurdler.

Tony Dobbin has an excellent record at the East Lothian track and he can keep his supporters happy by scoring on the promising Word Gets Around, trained by Len Lungo, in the National Hunt Flat Race.
