I WISH to reply to the comments (December 12) about making the city centre foot-streets only, and my suggestion for a special vehicle for the disabled and elderly. In response to the comments made by Mr Watson, I agree I am not reliant on a wheelchair and I am not disabled, but my wife is disabled and has great difficulty walking. So, Mr Watson, I do have some idea of the difficulty you face.
However, my suggestion for a special vehicle is to help people like yourself and my wife get in and out of town without difficulty or discomfort.
However, I don't know if you are aware, there are some special vehicles already operating, one is York Wheels, ring 726786 and Dial-a-Ride on 624455.
They are both very reliable, helpful and understanding to everyone's needs. They also offer a door-to door-service.
