If cruising through the 'hood with a couple of divas in the back of your convertible is high on your agenda during the next few weeks, Honey could be the soundtrack to have your speakers pumping.
A blend of R&B and hip hop tracks is set to a movie dedicated to a struggling dancer who gets her big break and lives her dream through a group of neighbourhood kids. Aggressive gangster attitudes dragged out in Nate Dogg's Leave Her Alone are balanced by Sean Paul's upbeat Gimme The Light. It's A Party, by Tamia, is laidback, uplifting and carefree - welcome relief to the angst rapped out in Missy Elliot's Hurt Sumthin.
An oriental vein runs through React, by Erick Sermon, which has the energetic beat to persuade those sympathetic to Honey's plight to hit the dancefloor. Best advice is watch the movie and if it's a hit, buy the DVD instead.
