The Accident Cup final between New Earswick All Blacks, who beat Heworth in the semi-final last week, and York Groves will take place on Easter Saturday, April 10, at York Acorn's Thanet Road ground, kick off 2.30pm.

The draw for the York and District Cup has paired Groves with Acorn in the preliminary round, where Acorn will strive to avenge their Accident Cup defeat. The winners of this game are scheduled to meet Heworth in the semi-finals, with Selby Warriors taking on All Blacks in the other. These games are to be arranged.

Meanwhile, nominations are being taken for players and coaches to represent York Ironsides in the York 9s on June 26-27.

Clubs should pass their nominations to Ironsides' manager Spen Allison (pictured above) on 01904 655041. The Ironsides are a representative side made up of players from the district's clubs.

Anybody interested in attending the BARLA ex-Lions' dinner at Headingley on April 17 is also asked to contact Spen Allison (01904 655041). A mini-bus is likely to be available.

The draw for the second round of the GMB National Cup has thrown up some new tests for York and District clubs.

New Earswick All Blacks travel to North West Counties League premier division high-flyers Haydock in what will prove a tough ask for the Yorkshire League side.

Arriva Trains Conference side York Acorn have a potential banana skin at home to Pennine League premier division outfit Victoria Rangers, while York Groves have an intriguing home tie against Cumberland League side Great Clifton.

Heworth, on the other hand, will know more about their opponents, having been drawn to visit the team directly above them in the Conference second division, Waterhead, on February 21.
