YORK City fans can expect a flood of announcements between now and the end of the season as Chris Brass looks to secure the Bootham Crescent futures of the out-of-contract players he would like to keep beyond this summer.

The player-boss said: "I do not want to find myself in a position this summer where I have just seven players signed on as I was when I took the job. Thankfully, I know that's not going to happen so I will be sitting down with everybody from now on to see where our future lies."

One of Brass' first tasks could be to make Justin Walker's on-loan switch from Cambridge United a permanent move.

Walker has impressed Brass but the two-month arrangement ends at the beginning of March.

"Justin has done well for us," Brass said. "He's somebody, like Darren Dunning, who we brought into the club because he fits our criteria.

"He's been unfortunate in that he's missed a lot of games with injury and with the fall-out down at Cambridge but he's somebody who will grow stronger and stronger. I think if we are fortunate to hold on to him next season he will get even better after a full pre-season with us."

Striker Aron Wilford has joined Harrogate Town on a month's loan and made his debut in the 0-0 UniBond League premier division draw at Frickley on Saturday.
