A TYPING error denied little wizard Danny Brough a nine-out-of-ten mark in the Evening Press' stats box after last week's win at Dewsbury.

The scrum-half was man of the match but the typo in the stats box awarded him an eight as opposed to a nine, with half-back partner Scott Rhodes getting a nine instead of an eight. (Sorry, Scott.)

As top man, Brough receives three player-of-the-year points - plus one more for getting the fans' vote - to jump ahead in the Evening Press/Collier Plant Hire player of the season standings.

Full-back Nathan Graham collected his first two points following his best display in a Knights shirt, while the final point went to Darren Callaghan, who continued his good early season form.

The man of the match in each game is awarded three player-of-the-year points, the second-best player gets two and the third-best gets one. An extra point is given to the player voted man of the match by fans sending nominations via email to peter.martini@ycp.co.uk. Whoever tops the table at the end of the season gets £300 from sponsors Collier Plant Hire, with the runner-up receiving £150.

Standings: Brough 6pts, Elston 4, Forsyth 4, Ball 3, Jackson 3, Langley 3, Briggs 2, Graham 2, Callaghan 1, Rhodes 1, J Smith 1.

KNIGHTS captain Lee Jackson was all set to be named in the best-ever Hull-born rugby team last week - until the pesky rules came into play.

A function in Willerby saw a panel of five rugby league experts come up with their top 13 Humbersiders, with one of the panel, Rothman's RL Yearbook author Ray Fletcher, saying Jackson would have made it "but the rules stipulated the panel could only select players who had retired".

Former York Wasps coach Lee Crooks and ex-Wasps player Mick Crane were named in the 13, at prop and second-row respectively.
