NEW signing James Adamson will make his debut for York Railway Institute against Wath at New Lane on Saturday.

The wing forward has been recruited from Harrogate and goes straight in to the side for a game RI will be favourites to win.

But team boss Nigel Lowery has issued a warning about their Yorkshire Three opponents, particularly as they will be without unavailable experienced campaigners Andy Morse, Dave Sowray and No 8 Nathan Ashman, who is sidelined by an ankle injury.

"Wath have had a rough time this season but two weeks ago beat Castleford so we cannot afford to take things lightly and will have to be at our best,"said Lowry.

With a number of players returning from injury, Pocklington have competition for places in most positions, and delay naming their Yorkshire Three side to meet Hemsworth.

Yorkshire Under-20 prop Matt Webber hopes to be fit after a shoulder problem, centre Guy Wilson is back after suspension, and skipper Matt Atkinson is also in contention after being out for a month.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm to allow spectators and players to watch the televised England v Ireland game.

Pock's U15s play the biggest game of their careers so far when they are at home to Hull Ionians in the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Cup on Sunday (11am).

York head to Horden for the North East Two encounter which was called off last week. Defeat for either of the sides could well spell relegation.

Malton and Norton's scheduled opponents Bridlington have a rearranged North East Two game against Morpeth leaving Malt a free weekend which gives some injured players time to recover before the next Yorkshire One encounter against Old Brodliens.

With no backlog of Yorkshire One fixtures, Selby have arranged a club game against a Doncaster XV at Sandhill Lane.

Selby make two changes in their back division from the side which held league leaders Malton and Norton to a draw last week. Hamish Burns starts at full-back and Mike Parsonage taking over from ankle injury victim, Andy Gabel.

Jason Cicero is unavailable and is replaced by Kevin Weston, who partners Mark Toye, who has recovered from a face injury, in the second row.

Ed Sweeting starts at flanker with Duncan Phillips on the bench together with winger Martin Protheroe, prop replacement John Kaye and Academy utility back Tod Wain.

This should be a useful workout for Selby, who return to league action next week with another crucial game at Wheatley Hills.

Harrogate are without a National Two match this weekend but the Georgians entertain Wharefedale at Claro Road.

The William Webb Ellis World Cup trophy was in Harrogate this week as part of its 'Sweet Chariot Tour' before heading to York and Hull.
