OUSEBURN United's hopes of competing in the race for the second promotion spot in division two of Leeper Hare York and District League were dented by a home defeat at the hands of Fulford United.

The home side had most of the play but Fulford netted two vital second half goals through Marcus Dunn and Glen Featherstone to steal the points. Mark Kinghorn netted one for Ouseburn.

Veteran Alan Goodrick struck for Barmby Moor after ten minutes at Moor Lane and the home side managed an equaliser from the boot of James Preston before half time despite struggling to find any sort of form. Lane improved their game in the second half and missed three good chances to win before settling for a point.

Three of the top four sides in division three were in cup action but White Horse took the opportunity of a game at struggling Wheldrake to record the league's highest score of the day.

Seven players got their names on the score sheet in an 8 -1 win: Simon Ashton, Michael Cockeram, Kirk Arkwright, Lenny Mason (2), Jon Sumner, Gary Rucklidge and John Williams. Martin Chapman netted Wheldrake's consolation goal.

Heworth moved further away from the re-election zone with a 3-2 win at home to Rawcliffe Rangers. Matt Fearn put The Rangers in front and they held the lead at half time. Heworth hit back with goals from John Verity, Tim Owtram and John Flint before Ricky Hunter scored for Rangers in the last minute.

Railway Institute beat Sheriff Hutton following a tight first 45. The visitors took the lead through Simon Roy, Alex Rouse netted their second and bagged a third after the break. But Darren Sellers, Sean Stockdale, Nick Hutchinson (2) and Luke Richardson netted goals for the home side as they ran out 6-3 winners.
