Bishopthorpe pulled off the shock of the day as they came within eight minutes of beating Leeper Hare York and District League Premier Division title challengers Pocklington.

Trailing 1 - 0 at the break to a Kieron Darlow goal, Pocklington levelled with an Andy Green strike but fell behind again when Greg FitzMaurice netted for Bishopthorpe. Mark Ablett salvaged a point for Pocklington with an 82nd-minute equaliser.

Malton Bacon Factory also needed a late equaliser to salvage a point at Tate & Lyle after taking the lead through Simon Collins.

Mike Barnett equalised before half-time and after the break Chris Harkin put the Selby side into the lead from a free-kick. Two minutes from time Nick Cass struck the equaliser.

Dringhouses took the opportunity to extend their lead at the top as goals from Mark Woodward and Craig McShane gave them a 2-1 win at Huntington.

Wigginton Black Horse entertained Nestl Rowntree, who missed at least five chances to score and fell behind to a Steve Daniels penalty in the 18th minute. 'Trees equalised when Daniels handled in the box and Steve Blake netted a penalty but two minutes later a 'Trees defender slipped, leaving Anthony Luck a clear run on goal to restore the home side's lead.

Copmanthorpe's veteran Graeme Butcher was made captain for the day as he faced his former club Osbaldwick for the first time since leaving them.

Colin Gibson headed the only goal of the first half to give Copmanthorpe the lead. After the break Steve Jackson levelled but Butcher struck a 25-yarder to restore Copmanthorpe's lead. A Paul Crangle goal levelled matters again but a Matty Bastock penalty and a Steve Cross effort finally saw Cop take the points.

Thorpe United increased their lead at the top of division one with a 5-2 win over second-placed Hamilton Panthers. They were two up at the break with goals from Shane Singleton and Adam Garner and although Dave Hyde and Neil Hartley pulled goals back, further strikes from Phil Fowler, Chris Smith and Danny Crowther won the points for Thorpe.

Norwich Union travelled to Crayke and goals from Matt Hilden, Matt Hibbins, Matt Devereaux and Richard Hunter saw them 4 - 1 up with 20 minutes to go. The home side then staged a revival with Mark Hutchinson and Andy Metcalfe (2) adding to an early goal from Simon Wilson to deny The Insurance Men two valuable points.

Easingwold continued their progress towards the division two title but they had to rely on the only goal of the game, scored by Mick Raper midway through the second half, to overcome neighbours Stillington.

A single goal from Gordon Campbell on the hour mark was enough to win Selby RSSC the points at Barmby Moor.

Rawcliffe Rangers came from three down in 17 minutes to win their division three home game against Sheriff Hutton.

Shane Brandon stopped the rot with a reply after half an hour. A three-goal blitz in which Daz Heels netted twice either side of a Jeff Hunter goal turned the game round.
