WE should really say a big thank you to reporter Matthew Woodcock and all the team at the Evening Press for their unfailing dedication in organising the petition to Save The Odeon and spurring so many people to become involved.
It was an appalling insult by the Odeon's owners not to meet Matthew, the town crier and Hugh Bayley, to receive the petition in London (March 12).
We cannot allow this cinema and important landmark to disappear. Everything must be done to save it, not just for us, but future generations.
