Severus SC and Hounds' John Smith's Sunday Morning League division one top-of-the-table duel ended deadlocked at 2-2.

McShane gave Severus the lead from a corner only for Rhodes to level before the break.

Hounds were then gifted the lead through an own goal but midway through the second period John Lake equalised to give Severus a six-point lead.

Nestl Rowntree and Volunteers also shared four goals with Kevin Jackson twice putting Volunteers in front only for Ward and Battersby to level.

Shaun Turner hit a hat-trick as Ainsty killed off a spirited New Earswick side with five second half goals in a 6-2 win.

Thorpe United stayed on course for the second promotion spot while boosting their goal difference with a 10-1 win over nine-man Five Lions in division two. Rodger and Whiteley both netted twice for Thorpe.

Gary Young and John Thornton got the goals that gave Burnholme SC a 2-1 division three win over Inland Revenue, Burn netting for the visitors.

Burton Stone played their best football of the season but again their defensive frailties showed as they went down 4-1 at home to division five leaders Britannia. Ian Rudd put them in front only for John Sebine to level before the break. Stone continued to waste chances and Britannia's superior finishing saw Sebine, Bardy and Conway score.

Anderson and Chadwick both scored twice as Selby Olympia Reserves kept in the title hunt with a 6-1 win at Castle Howard Ox.

Albion Vaults' division six title hopes took a blow when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Firkin 103.

Andrew White gave Albion a first half lead only for Michael Hodgeson to level for Firkin. Albion could have won the game but Lee Ward's penalty was saved by Moffat in the Firkin goal.
