GIVEN the daily pictures of human suffering, death and destruction that I have seen since March 20 2003, it beggars belief that anyone can still support the actions ordered by Tony Blair and George Bush in Iraq, let alone admit it as John A Wallace does (Letters May 12).

Real people are experiencing terrible pain every single day, while the men in suits swan around claiming the moral high ground. To make sick jokes about some illusionist show is to trivialise this very real pain.

George Galloway and Graham Horne (albeit in different capacities) are both working towards truth and peace, words which are obviously unfamiliar to Mr Bush and Mr Blair.

Nobody polled me for my opinions on great humanitarians.

I certainly wouldn't have named anyone who felt it was acceptable to drop cluster bombs and depleted uranium shells on another country in violation of UN law.
