EVEN more champers has been put on ice after a lucky East Yorkshire Lotto winner failed to cash a ticket worth £100,000.

News of the latest unclaimed windfall comes just days after the Evening Press reported how a mystery ticket holder from York had yet to pocket a whopping £200,000.

Winning numbers on the East Riding ticket for the Saturday, April 17 draw, were 3, 21, 31, 42, 47, 48 and bonus number 34.

Now the search is on for the unwitting prizewinner - who bought their ticket in an area including Pocklington, Bridlington, Driffield and Hornsea. They have until 11pm on October 14 to claim their fortune.

If they miss that deadline the cash will top up the staggering sum of £626 million in unclaimed money that has already boosted lottery good causes since 1994.

Jacquie Wilson, from lottery operator Camelot, today appealed for Lotto players to check old tickets or face counting the cost.

She said: "Two major prizes worth a total of £150,825 from tickets bought in Yorkshire have recently gone to good causes. We would really hate to see players from the region miss out again.

"We already have the champagne on ice and just hope we can find the winners in time."

Jacquie said the draw for the mystery East Yorkshire ticket took place the weekend after Easter, so the winner may have forgotten to check their tickets in the holiday period. She called on people to check wallets, clothes and look down sofas and under car seats, in case people are - literally - sitting on a fortune.

Phone the National Lottery on 0845 910 0000 to claim the £100,583 windfall.

On Friday, we reported how £205,569 is still waiting to be claimed by a York resident. Winning numbers on that ticket, which won on April 10, were 25, 30, 34, 39, 40, 47 and bonus number, 16.

Meanwhile, Camelot confirmed that nearly £90,000 went unclaimed for more than 180 days in Harrogate.

Now the total of £89,627 from the Lotto draw on October 25 last year has gone into the good causes fund.
