A YORK-BASED toy and stationery distributor is planning a major expansion.
J A Magson Ltd is expanding in York with a new 150,000 square foot warehouse and distribution centre. The firm is also to develop its business in Scotland after it bought the assets of Edinburgh business, Geo. Clapperton & Son Ltd, which recently went into receivership.
The company, which is based at Clifton Moor, already has substantial business in Scotland.
Managing director Ian Magson said: "We are very focused on the changing retail distribution trade and have great empathy with the independent shopkeeper so we are very confident in our ability to service additional Scottish outlets."
