YOUR inimitable columnist Bill Hearld winds up: "Even I had to admit they (ferrets) were nicer than those horrid kids" (August 10).
It reminds me of a time in Western Australia when I advised a parents' and teachers' meeting that my two daughters were children, not little goats.
Why use an ambiguous word when a more accurate one is left idle? Obviously, I escaped the lynch mob. But can I escape Bill?
