BOLTON Percy had the misfortune to be caught up in a road accident on the York ring road and their under-manned team went down to a six-wicket defeat at Heworth.

That cut their lead in division three to just one point. With part of the team arriving on time, Bolton's captain opted to field upon winning the toss but when his remaining players were delayed he had to accept Heworth's claim of the toss and take first innings.

This resulted in Bolton being bowled out for 100 as Trevor Walton took 5-47 and Dave Bell 3-17. Jason Gatus then hit 57 to see Heworth to a comfortable win.

Clifton Alliance promoted their claim for divisional honours when they took the full 30 points at Wilberfoss.

Paul Atkinson hit 60, Syd Corley 39 and John Bladen 30 in a total of 203-6 with John Chaplin taking 3-28 for 'Foss. Mike Stothard responded with 52 and Ben Jackson 25 but Francis Hawthorne took 6-52 to dismiss the home side for 144.

Acomb's John Renshaw produced the best bowling figures of the day with 8-23 at Pickering to dismiss the home side for 92. Acomb lost early wickets before Paul Hemmingway 51no and Rob Littlewood 26no clinched an eight-wicket victory.

Yapham moved out of the relegation zone when they had a seven-wicket win over Bubwith, who felt the dual role power of Trevor Walker. Chris MacLaren hit 66 for Bubwith but Walker took 5-32 to play a significant part in restricting the score to 143-9. He had help from Jon Flint who took 3-31. Young fielder Paul Haugh held three catches.

Yapham's Sam Rees made 43 and Dick Wright an anchorman's 58no but Walker administered the killer punch by cracking an unbeaten 33 in a 14-ball stay at the crease which saw him only play nine scoring shots before his side won by seven wickets.

Stillington have moved towards mid-table safety after a fine all round performance by Tariq Rasheed masterminded a 54-run win over Malton & Old Malton.

Rasheed made 57 and Ben Milburn 25 in Stillington's 142-9 with Chris Brigham taking 5-47. He then took 6-33 as he combined with Richard Coultas 3-10 to dismiss Malton for 88.
