CHRIS Thompson included a superb 160 finish for 15 as he qualified for the York Unique-Phoenix League division one semi-finals.

Thompson eliminated team-mate Jon O'Mara with 16 and 17 darts, then put out Shepherd's Mick Willsden (17) in 15 and 17 darts, to set up a board final against Heath Scaife who had defeated Arthur Scott (Phoenix 'A'). Thompson booked his place in the semis with 17 and 18 darts.

Hosp SC 'A's John Smith came back from a leg down to win the board final against Acomb SC. Smith beat team-mate Mick Kearney, then defeated Cygnet 'A's Tom Hair to set up his match with Harris (180), who took the scalp of Dave Binks (HSC 'A') with a 20-darter.

The remaining semi-final places went to Neil Caywood (Cygnet 'A') who won through against Paul Cooper (Cygnet 'B') and Tony Raymond who defeated Ebor colleague Mark Hartley.

The division two semi-finals had Toni Smallwood taking out Hospital SC 'B' team-mate Mel Scott, while 20 and 21-darters from Flag's Steve Simpson gave him victory over Slipper's Rob Platt.

Acorn's Mark Gale was knocked out by colleague Lee Brundrett, who recorded a brace of 22-darters to book his semi-final spot, while the last qualifier was Clifton's Paul Brandon who saw off the challenge from Slipper's Paul Partridge (180).

Carole Layne closed on 124 (2 x treble 20, 4) for 21 as York John Smith's Ladies League division one leaders Cygnet 'C' were prevented from a full house by Flag's Jo West. Cygnet 'A's Anne Bass shot out on bull for 70 but a 62 close by Wendy Shortle and a captain's game from Sandra Bruce ensured Independent took the honours.

Diane Moreland and Clair Cooper guided Phoenix to a perfect scoreline against Holgate.

Leeman 'B' were tied 3-3 with visitors Cueball 'B' who cleaned up in the pairs. Clifton 'A' Karen Hodgson included 2 x 100, 120 in the winning pairs with Donna Maskill at Slipper.

In division two, leaders Blacksmith Arms won the final two pairs to defeat Severus 6-3. Clifton 'B' reeled off all the pairs in defeating Shepherd 'A' 7-2. Shepherd 'B' had Sue Lacy hitting the tons before Heather Green - Sue Fay secured the win against club rivals Tang Hall.

Freda Harman sealed victory for Sun as Sam McShane was Britannia's lone singles success.

Jubilee's Maggie Schofield-Brenda Dawe combined to secure their 5-4 victory at Ship, Cygnet 'B's Tracy Billingham and Jeanette Craven hit the tons in their 6-3 win against Tap.

Division three front-runners Woolpack had a resounding victory at Ebor, as did Leeman 'D' who made home advantage count against Turf. Chris Lamb- Emma Cooper were victorious in the decider against visitors Leeman 'A'. Burton WMC had Val Pindar-Diane Harwood sealing their 5-4 win against Leeman 'C'.

Beryl Glover's 124 for Fulfordgate inspired them to a 5-2 win over Slipper taking them second in division one in the York White Rose Ladies League.

High scoring from Jo Palmer, Eileen Carter and Irene Bowes keeps Collingwood at the top by seven points. Lil Jackson's 147 failed to help Winning Post triumph over New York 'B'. June Mallory took decider for Coach over Clarence Club.

In division two, Six Bells were bowled over by New Earswick's 7-0 victory.
