SINCE forming in 1988 to support the Battlefield Band at a gig in Adelaide, Australia, Colcannon have earned an array of folk music awards with their rich vocal harmonies and their polished ensemble playing.
Their latest album, Dolphin Bay, offers quality acoustic music with Kat Kraus on vocals, John Munro (guitar, mandolin and vocals), Pete Titchener (guitar, bass and vocals), Don Holdernesse (bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals) and Emma Luker (violin, cello and vocals).
Highlights include Kraus's vocal arrangement of Sting's We Work The Black Seam, Titchener's tribute to the Hastings-born Indian, Grey Owl, and the title track that warns against the dangers of "finding yourself" while losing everyone else.
