IT is interesting to note (Evening Press, August 10) that Northern Electric Distribution (NEDL) are to use radio commercials "to deliver hard-hitting safety messages".
NEDL should take a look at the electrical compound which is close to the bridge at Strensall on the road to Sheriff Hutton. It has a weak timber fence made up of two wooden rails supporting frail triangular wooden palings, several of which have been broken for more than year. The gap this has created is large enough for children to gain access to the exposed electrical equipment within the compound.
I reported this when I first spotted it, but nothing has been done. Maybe the equipment is no longer live, but if it is, children who come into contact with it may not be.
