David Nicholls, who produced one of the training feats of the season on Knavesmire yesterday when producing Bahamian Pirate to win the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at the veteran age of nine, looks to the other side of the Pennines tomorrow as he bids to extend his winning run.

Nicholls, based at Sessay, between Easingwold and Thirsk, saddles True Night in the £20,000 Blue Square-sponsored handicap at Chester and the seven-year-old is fancied to take the spoils for the third year in succcession.

Particularly well served by the tight Roodee circuit, True Night is on a 5lb higher mark than when winning this race 12 months ago, but he showed he is up to winning off this rating on his latest start here when he finished third to Nashaab from an unfavourable draw.

Robert Winston, who rode two winners at Chepstow yesterday, takes the mount on True Night, who can put a recent disappointing run at Redcar behind him, back on his favourite course.

Winston can also land the Blue Square Chester Rated Handicap on Supremacy, who finished second to Compton Bolter in the corresponding race last season and now bids to turn the tables.

Like True Night, Supremacy is making an annual pilgramage to Chester, as he won this 11-furlongs event in 2002. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, whose horses are in fine form, the five-year-old is fancied to take all the beating.

Richmond trainer Alan Swinbank has good prospects of landing the Blue Square Games Handicap with nap selection Lucky Judge.

Winner of three races this season, including his last two starts, Lucky Judge is a progressive stayer, who boasts the right sort of profile for this two-miler. He should prove a tough nut to crack, with the easy ground in his favour.

James Hetherton can be yet another North Yorkshire trainer to get his name on the scoresheet, courtesy of Blue Maeve in the Blue Square Casino Handicap.

A runaway winner at Catterick two outings ago, Blue Maeve has since finished a highly-resepectable fifth from a deadly wide draw at Beverley, A return to the winning groove is anticipated.

At Ripon, where an inspection was planned today, Danelor is fancied to go well in the featured £20,000 toteexacta Handicap.

Richard Fahey's talented gelding got back on top at Hamilton last time and his front-running tactics will be well served on this course.

At Sandown, Mark Johnston has every chance of picking-up the richest prize on the card, the £45,000 Iveco Daily Solario Stakes with Leo's Lucky Star.
