BAY Horse wrapped up their fourth successive York Phoenix Open Summer League division one title with a 7-2 victory at Woodman.

Bay took the first five with Kev O'Hara then Paul Cooper gaming in 19 darts Cooper went on to hit a maximum in a 26 dart 701 leg with O'Hara. Woodman's only singles success came from Tony Raymond with 21.

Howden remain second after taking all the pairs in a 7-2 win against Crescent WMC. Volunteer Arms recorded a narrow win over Phoenix, taking the aggregate by five points. Howden need a point against Volunteer in the last match to secure the runners-up spot.

Cygnet had John Miller out in 22 and good scores from Steve Lane in their 7-2 win against Pack.

Despite a bull finish from Dave Ware, Huntington 'A' lost out to their 'B' team in division two as Steve Cowley-Lee Bullock sealed the win.

Woolpack's 7-2 win at Jackdaw keeps them in contention, while Leeman's last game match-winners were Roger Pirrie-Les Scaife and Paul Helm closed in 20 as Locomotive won their match at Yearsley within the singles.

Three Cranes are a point away from securing the division three title after a 7-2 victory at Mount 'B' whose Nick Davis closed on 63.

A superb 19-darter from Bob Rochester inspired Reindeer to slay Edinburgh Arms, while Arthur Caple notched a maximum as Clarence WMC defeated Mount 'A' 5-4.

Ton-up Thompson sparkles

CHRIS Thompson hit a 100 finish for 18 darts in York John Smith's Men's League division one.

Rod Thompson added a 20-darter, Tony Cooper a 180 and then Chris Thompson-Cooper won their pairs in 24 darts as Sun 'A' whitewashed Dringhouses.

Mick Willsden gamed in 19 as Shepherd 'A' overpowered Golden Slipper 6-3.

Heath Scaife opened with a 115 finish for 18 to lead Shepherd 'A' to a 6-3 win in a rearranged match with Crescent who had Ron Simpson hitting a 115 finish for 21 and Kelvyn Frankel out in 21.

Paul Mizon-Dave Mason (103 finish for 27) and Mark Hartley (180) led Cygnet 'A' to a resounding 8-1 win at Cue Ball, whose Dave Endeacott hit a 180.

John Pickering partnered Neil Long to win the decider for Mitre against Swan whose Baz MacLaughlin finished on 88 for 21.

Division two leaders Clifton 'B' had Barry Noble (21) and John O'Mara (21) helping them to an 8-1 victory at Osbaldwick.

Tony Snowden-Paul Wilson ensured Britannia claimed all three points in a 6-3 win over Holgate.

In division three, Dave Dobson (21) helped nudge Flag 'B' to a 6-3 win at Fulfordgate whose Andy Preston gamed on 78.

Wayne Markwick-Dave MacDonald (180) won the decider for Green Tree at Bootham Tavern whose Mick MacLeod also hit a 180 in the last game.

Hields hits top form for Huntington

HUNTINGTON'S Angie Hields gamed in 17 darts in the York John Smith's Mixed League against Cue Ball whose Pete Leake-Tina Platt saved the whitewash.

Jim Hawksby (Beeswing) was out in 16 at Collingwood, while Cygnet 'A' had Mark Hartley gaming in 18 and Kev Walton backing with 21 in their emphatic 10-1 win against Cygnet 'B' and Steve Wade-Julie Judson were Leeman 'A's match-winners against Slipper.

Hawksby's 20-darter also stood out in Beeswing's 8-3 victory against Cygnet 'B' and Ian Johnstone included a maximum for Slipper, who lost 7-4 to Cue Ball.

Dave O'Hara closed in 18 against Crescent, who had Neil Fairclough with a fine 102 bull finish, while Phil Smith gamed in 20 to prevent a Cygnet 'A' whitewash.

Clive Luck partnered Daphne Green to take the decider for Cygnet 'D' against Leeman 'A'.
