SELF-OBSESSION could be the key to continuing the York City Knights revival against the ailing Dewsbury Rams tomorrow (3pm kick-off).

The revived Knights will take on the side they have already put 150 points past so far this season - but will be wary of taking their eyes off the ball and slipping up, as was so nearly the case against Gateshead Thunder two weeks ago.

"It's all about us," said Agar. "I think what we are looking for, or rather, what we are not looking for is a replay of Gateshead.

"We have convincingly beaten Dewsbury three times this season in the league and in the cup, but at this stage we can't afford any slip-ups and there's no room for complacency.

"We've got to show a bit of a ruthless streak and really focus and I'm confident that if we do, we will come away with a win."

And another win would keep them in touch with the race for automatic promotion, even though it is currently out of their hands.

He added: "I never once said we were completely out of it. We may still have lost one too many games but I know if we win our games from here on in we could still have a chance of automatic promotion, although as I said we may have lost too many already.

"I have always remained positive - even though we lost two games and we had that sticky patch.

"We have got a lot to be positive about. We've come out of our slump and we've had two fairly convincing wins over Barrow and Swinton and I think we are getting back to something like our form.

"We now need to be looking to continue it from now until the end of the season - whenever that might be."

In keeping with the current run of good fortune at Huntington Stadium, Agar once again has the luxury of a virtually full-strength squad to select from for the LHF Healthplan National League Division Two clash, with only Dean Andrews definitely out.

Andrews has continued to struggle with the groin injury he incurred on his debut against Barrow and will see a specialist on Monday to ascertain the seriousness of the problem.

Star kicker Danny Brough will be firing on all cylinders, keen to surpass the previous best points tally and goals-kicked totals of the season.

The stage has been perfectly set for the young scrum-half to shatter the York RL record books against his former side.

York City Knights from: C Smith, Buchanan, Langley, Spurr, Farrell, Rhodes, Brough, Wilson, Elston, Sullivan, Ramsden, Callaghan, Friend, Jackson, Cain, J Smith, Forsyth.
