It's a big day at Beverley tomorrow with a £50,000 handicap and a new £30,000 Listed sprint, both televised live on Channel 4, which could also be focussing on trainer David Nicholls.

The North Yorkshire handler, fresh from his Group 1 success at York last week with the nine-year-old Bahamian Pirate, fields another of his talented speedsters in the totepool Beverley Bullet Sprint where Continent will attempt to show his rivals the way home.

A former Group 1 winner, Continent went through a disappointing season last year, but he bounced back to winning form at Nottingham recently and that confidence-boosting success will surely make him a force to be reckoned with in this five-furlongs dash.

Caribbean Coral, who has done so well this season for John Quinn, promises to make a bold bid, but Continent may just have his measure.

Newmarket trainer Ed Dunlop has good prospects of landing the totesport Heritage Handicap, the richest race on the card, with Mutafanen, the mount of Willie Supple.

Although he has not been able to supplement his solitary success of the season, achieved at Doncaster back in March, Mutafanen has run some solid races in defeat, not least when finishing a close fourth to Dunaskin in a hot handicap at Haydock last time. The fact that Dunaskin came out to win again at York last week, franks that form and highlights the chances of Mutafanen in this ten-furlong event, which has attracted an 11-strong field.

Dunlop, the trainer of Mutafanen, will also be strongly represented - ten minutes earlier - by Court Masterpiece in the £100,000 totesport Celebration Mile at Goodwood.

Winner of a valuable handicap, off a hefty weight, at Ascot last time, Court Masterpiece will need to raise his game even further here. But there is every chance that he can, running on a course where he has been successful in the past, and on rain-softened ground, which he has proved he can handle.

He looks a tempting alternative to the likes of Naahy and Chic, who are likely to be more popular choices among punters, and is awarded the nap vote to cause an upset.

Swift Tango can provide Ed Dunlop with another winner in the Travelsphere Holidays March Stakes.

The four-year-old ran out a fluent scorer at Chester last Saturday and is clearly in form.

Also worth noting at Goodwood are the useful Kool (2-30) and the in-form Wunderbra (5-25).

At Newmarket, Red Romeo makes plenty of appeal in the Sharp Minds Betfair Be Hopeful Stakes.

Sent down by North Yorkshire trainer Alan Swinbank, Red Romeo, a prolific winner this summer, will have the soft ground in his favour in which to produce his very best.

Richard Fahey's useful pair Doitnow (2-55) and Fonthill Road (5-10), and David Barrons' Zero Tolerance (4-00), who finished second at York last week, are also worthy of attention at HQ.
