Francis Norton, who booted home his 50th winner of the season at Musselburgh yesterday, has good prospects of adding to his tally at Beverley tomorrow.

Splodger Mac, trained at Norton by the likewise in-form Neville Bycroft, goes for the Mac And Leni Memorial Handicap and is napped to repeat the course-and-distance success he achieved earlier in the season.

A consistent campaigner, Splodger Mac was narrowly denied at Thirsk on his latest start. After looking sure to win entering the final furlong, he was worn down near the finish by Rymer's Rascal.

Splodger Mac, who was sent off favourite on that occasion, can recover losses tomorrow.

Paul Hanagan teams-up with Newmarket trainer Ed Dunlop in the Katie And Paul Wedding Celebration Handicap and they can click with Mith Hill, a previous winner on the course.

The three-year-old, who was unraced last season, scored at Beverley on her second and latest outing when staying on late over a mile and a quarter to beat Mambina by two lengths.

The merit of that form is dubious, but Mith Hill is open to further improvement, especially over tomorrow's extra two furlongs.

Sheriff Hutton jockey Kevin Darley skips Beverley to head to Yarmouth and can make his journey worthwhile by winning the feature race.

He rides smart three-year-old La Persiana in the £30,000 John Musker Fillies' Stakes.

Having rattled-up a hat-trick of wins through the summer, La Persiana was foiled by Posteritas on this course last time when the ground was softer than she prefers. Ground conditions should be much more to her liking tomorrow.
