ALTHOUGH the New Generation Singing Club suffered a despicable robbery (Letters, October 12), there was very good news for the "keep music live" brigade.
Most of the contestants in the Pop Idol show were singing to a disco-style backing, but I volunteered to do a rather tricky minor key piece on piano for little Milly Mansell, the final contestant, and she was voted the winner with Castle On A Cloud. A winner for live music.
