THE problem at Walmgate Bar seems to go on and on, surely a metal frame with a swinging gate across the top, set at about six inches below the height of the bar on the approach side, should solve the problem?

In case a driver did not hear it catch the top of his vehicle, the gate could be set a traffic light which, when touched, would turn red. Therefore a driver would have to be both deaf and blind to get stuck in the bar.
