HAVING read Julian Cole's column (November 26) three times, I feel I must suggest to you that you will increase your circulation if you replace this column with extracts from 'The Beano'.

What a load of rubbish Cole writes. Perhaps he thinks he should be king?

He does not quote HRH's memo in full and even then prints conclusions which are impossible to reach from the extracts. It seems to me HRH is putting forward "pop stars, High Court judges" etc as examples to be emulated but he is pointing out that one must work at it, starting in school with education.

As for shouting at the radio, well why not? I even swear at columnists writing their would-be funny pieces in the newspaper.

I can't be bothered to write more, I have work to do. Just one final thought. What is the alternative to our monarchy - an elected president? That really could be something to shout about. Just think: President Blair, President Howard, President Kennedy. Do me a favour.
