HAVING learnt that City of York Council has decided to go ahead with its unreasonable plan for a Straylands bollard, those against it should write to them and give these reasons:
1. The Stockton Lane roundabout is only just coping at the moment. This bollard would cause more traffic at this junction.
2. I do not believe we have a "rat-run", just normal extra traffic at rush hours. This happens in many other streets in York.
3. We all pay rates and should share our roads with each other. The environment is better served by allowing unrestricted access, than transport being in a long tail-back at the roundabout.
4. I do not want visitors and works vehicles arriving at a "no entry" blocking their path.
A Broomhead (Letters, December 17) is quite correct: our streets are for others to drive on, not only the residents.
