SOME readers have written of the lack of festive activities on offer in York this year, but I say a big thank you for the Father Christmas experience at Murton Park.

It was wonderful. So much effort had been put into providing a lovely day out children. All the staff, car-park attendants, elves, restaurant staff and Father Christmas himself were so enthusiastic, happy and full of festive cheer, which when you think about providing these tours every half an hour for a number of days says a lot about the individuals involved.

My friend and I took along our five children of varying ages, from 20 months to ten years, and we all had a marvellous day out.

Well done to all concerned. A fabulous experience and worth every penny.

Fenwick's store was also very good. We met a really happy Santa while shopping. We were given good quality gifts, the staff were all smiling and this was free.

I wish all the people who have made my children's Christmas more magical, a very happy Christmas and hope they get chance to put their feet up.

They deserve it.
