JUST 24 hours into the Chinese year of the Rooster and the London pretenders to the stage of rock look set to make it their own.

The handsome sweaty-haired foursome chose their name after picking up £250 at the races on a horse called Rooster Booster.

Here they have made a much safer bet for financial success with a slick debut album of 12 punchy rawk tracks and crisp radio-friendly ballads. It hit the charts running at number three and has already gone gold - that's 50,000 people humming the chorus of Staring At The Sun because they can't remember the second line. You're So Right For Me stands head and shoulders above the rest, a track with real grit in its eye and a belting guitar riff.
