MICK Cook will "take what is given" in the Powergen Challenge Cup fourth round draw.

His York City Knights side, as expected, made it through the third round with a 50-12 win over amateurs Elland at Huntington Stadium yesterday.

Super League clubs enter the competition at the next stage - including Leeds Rhinos, from whom Cook has been seconded to the Knights this season - but the York chief declared no preference as regards who his side will face.

"You can't predict the draw," he said ahead of the draw, which will be on BBC Radio 5Live at 7.30pm tonight. "We will just take it as it comes."

Cook was content enough with yesterday's victory, though he admitted it wasn't an exceptional performance.

"We got 50 points so we have to be reasonably happy, but it was a bit scrappy at times," he said.

"It was a good game to get out of the way. We've not been up to standard but we're happy with the 50 points and we're in the bag for the next round."

He added: "It was a bit blustery out there so we had to keep it tight. We looked good going forward with tight passes and good support. We ran good lines and at times looked dangerous.

"But we were still a bit erratic at times and there were a few interceptions."

As for Elland, the Pennine League champions, he said: "They were a very enthusiastic side. The amateur game is good these days so you can't take them lightly. They brought the game to us but we found a few holes in their defence.

"They were a bit loose defensively though the pace of the game was perhaps not what they're used to."

The Halifax amateurs perhaps didn't deserve to be on the receiving end of such a heavy scoreline, but coach Junaid Malik was not dejected.

He said: "It was a good day out for the lads and a good experience for them. The lads got to test themselves against one of the top sides in National League Two.

"We matched York pretty well in the forwards around the middle but they had a bit too much pace out wide for us, in particular with the full-back (Matt Blaymire) and the winger Peter Fox, who was electric.

"We were a bit overawed at first but there were periods in the game when we matched them and we came up with a couple of tries."
