YORK City Knights boss Mick Cook is facing a potential injury crisis ahead of Sunday's big game at home to Castleford.

Lee Paterson, who failed a late fitness test for the Elland game last Sunday after tweaking a back injury, is still struggling, while Ian Kirke and goalkicker Chris Ross suffered calf and hamstring strains respectively during the match and are doubtful.

Dan Potter (shoulder) is still on the treatment table, along with long-term absentees Mick Ramsden (ankle), Chris Spurr (broken leg) and Austin Buchanan (broken wrist), while Jon Liddell (ankle) is also a doubt despite training last night.

In better news, it is hoped centre Neil Law (foot) will be passed fit, while scrum-half Chris Levy (leg wound) should also be okay.

Cook said: "We're struggling a bit but we'll regroup tomorrow, select a team based on who we think will be okay and take it from there.

"We've got a bit of a problem in the outside backs with Austin and Chris Spurr already out, and with Dan Potter struggling, Chris Ross struggling and Neil Law perhaps struggling. We've not got a lot of cover for wing or full-back and we may have to look at bringing someone else in on loan from Leeds."
