Copmanthorpe recorded their first win over Wigginton in five attempts and booked a place in the Leeper Hare York and District League Senior Cup semi-final after a 3-1 away win.

Danny Parker opened the scoring within 20 seconds for Copmanthorpe and though they were pegged back by a James Vine goal they went on to to win with goals from Grahame Butcher and Joe Carter.

Old Malton fell behind to a Roger Osbourne free kick at Norwich Union but Phil Hill levelled on the half hour and Heath Brown hit the winner straight after the interval to book a semi-final trip to Easingwold.

All the quarter-final ties in the Junior Cup went the way of the visiting sides. Ouseburn, despite falling behind to an Arthur Broadbent goal on eight minutes at Huby, went on to win 4-1 with goals from Andrew Kitchen, Mathew Crowl and Richard Carruthers (2).

York RI and Tadcaster Albion had drawn both league encounters so it was no surprise that the sides finished level again after 90 minutes. Extra-time failed to separate the sides but Tadcaster progressed to the last four after winning 4-3 on penalties.

Poppleton, last season's beaten finalists, also needed penalties before overcoming White Horse. Dave Pickles gave Poppleton the lead but Lenny Mason sent the tie into extra-time, and finally penalties which Poppleton won 4-1.

Heslington beat Elvington 2-1. Simon Musgrave gave Heslington the lead but on the stroke of half-time Luke Dove equalised but Heslington won the game with a penalty five minutes from time. That completed a week of cup heartache for Elvington as they went out of the East Riding Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening, 14-13 on penalties.

In the Reserve Cup, the top two sides in Reserve A - Old Malton and Dringhouses -- will meet each other next week in the semi-final.

An own goal gave leaders Old Malton the lead at Dunnington but the hosts drew level with an Anthony Downing header. Paul Milner, with the help of a deflection, hit Malton's winner four minutes from the end.

Dringhouses eased into the last four with a 3-0 home win over Easingwold with goals from Steve Cross, Dermot Reed and Wayne Carter.

Four goals from Poppleton's Tim Hudson helped send his side into the semi-finals as they beat Stamford Bridge 6-2. Andy Chalmers and Johan Morsh completed the scoring for Reserve 'C' side Poppleton while Chris Ploughman and Chris Allen replied for Stamford Bridge. They will now meet Reserve 'A' side Copmanthorpe who beat newly crowned Reserve 'B' champions Nestl Rowntree 2-0 with second half goals from Darren Starkey and Lee Atkinson.
