THANK you, Sue Nelson, for bringing organ donation to our attention ("A sister's living legacy", April 8). It is easy to delay registering as a donor, thinking we will do it sometime later.
We also need to consider our children as donors. It is a difficult issue to contemplate but it must be easier now than when confronted with the need to donate.
When your close relative has suddenly died, the usefulness of the organs declines quickly over time and the heat of the moment will not help your rational thinking.
Rehearse the arguments now and register your response on www.uktransplant.org.uk.
Just think how much you could achieve through that brief discussion.
Mrs Cai Mallett,
St George's Place, York.
