SINGLETONS whose puppy love years are far behind are being offered an opportunity to find their Mr or Miss Right within three minutes of meeting.

People in the 35 to 50 age group will be able to date more than a dozen potential suitors after just one brief encounter as York-born Lisa Fisher expands her new speed-dating venture.

The 33-year-old, who grew up in Strensall, launched Attraction Dating after trotting the globe on her own and being forced to strike up conversations with strangers simply to escape moments of solitude.

Speed dating events enable people to spend up to three minutes with up to 20 other singletons during an evening, after which they say whether they are interested in any as potential dates or friends.

After that, email addresses are supplied, and it is then up to the couple. But unlike blind dates, if there is no chemistry, the couple are spared the ordeal of having to spend long with each other.

Since Lisa's first event in York in February for 23 to 35-year-olds, she said she had been inundated with requests from the slight older generation.

She has set a date at the Pitcher And Piano bar, in York, on May 16 for 35 to 50-year-olds. For details log on to www.attractiondating.co.uk
