Heslington are Leeper Hare York and District League division two champions despite suffering their first defeat in nine games as they lost 4-3 at home to relegated Strensall.

Matt Gomm put the visitors in front, but this was cancelled out by Peter Vince before the interval.

In the second half Nigel Lyle restored Strensall's lead and a long-range screamer from Mick Pipe extended their advantage.

Simon Newby and another Vince goal made it all square before Matt Brown hit a late winner for Strensall.

Tadcaster Albion warmed up for their Junior League Cup final date with Heslington at Poppleton on Wednesday night by beating Moor Lane 5-1.

The final Reserve 'C' game of the season finished all square as Poppleton were held 2-2 at home by Riccall.

Matty Cooper gave Riccall a first half lead but Charlie Jackson equalised. Andy Ibbotson put Poppleton in front before Cooper hit his second goal for Riccall.
